Finally in New York

Well, I'm finally in New York City for the summer! I got in on Sunday afternoon at about 4:00. Both of the flights were no problem at all. I got to walk around the city some and see where the church offices are. When it was time to go back home, I got to make my way back all by myself on the train/subway. I was a little nervous, but made it alright. Getting around has been quite an experience since we have to walk everywhere. There are a lot of subway routes that you have to figure out. There are maps everywhere and people help you if you just ask. I've found that most New Yorkers are not "jerks" all the time. As people are walking down the street, they are focused on going somewhere. They have to drone out the constant advertisements, people handing out fliers, and crowds of people. In the subway, people stay pretty quiet and keep to themselves. It's just the culture. But people are friendly if you need help with something. They just don't want people in their faces trying to sell things. I'm really liking things so far.
